First-Year Students

Interested in Fire Science, or becoming a paramedic?  Changing regulations from the accrediting bodies of both professions mean that you will need at least a bachelor's degree if you plan to go into administration.  Our BS in Public Health:  EMDP option provides you a BS degree completion program compatible with your professional goals, and has enough flexibility for you to tailor your coursework to your individual needs.

We can also help you receive course credit if you are working on your paramedic license, either through Prior Learning Assessment, or through our community college partner Lake Land College.

Transfer Students

What is the most common question transfer students have?

"Am I going to be able to finish my degree on time?"

That's why we have our transfer students meet with our academic advisor during Transfer Orientation, if not earlier, so we can work with your to create a degree completion plan that fits your timeframe, your work and life schedules, and your financial requirements.

Transfer students who enter the program in their first semester of the junior year can usually finish all their coursework and their internship in 4 semesters.  Some students need the full four semesters for their classes, and complete their internship in the summer. It all depends on what coursework you took at your previous school, and how many courses you are able to take each semester.

For EMS or Fire Science professionals:

If you are a current first responder professional and already on the job, please check out our brand new Bachelors of Applied Arts & Sciences (BAAS) in Emergency Management -- it is designed for working professionals and can grant up to 12 hours of course credit by CPL, plus there is a significant "earn while you learn" component that can partner with your current job.
